Salata Feeds More Than Rabbits

Salata is the Eastern European word for “salad,” and some of my favorite salads that I have ever eaten are found in Eastern Europe. During the summer, my appetite goes down as soon as the heat arrives. I live on grilled food and salads, which is why I’m sooo excited to find a local place called Salata that offers both. Just the name of this salad shop made me curious and hungry.

Salata allows you to customized a salad with an unlimited amount of options for a price that doesn’t include cents. That’s right…the tax is added in the price. What you see is what you get. You tell Salata what salad components you want, they put into a bowl, toss, and hand over the your custom-made salad in a silver bowl. If you’d rather have your customized medley put in a tortilla, request the wrap. Salata offers some tasty toppings like strawberries, avocado, roasted potatoes, apples and the list goes on.

Salata‘s protein selection left me overwhelmed and in awe. Branch out and instead of marinated chicken breasts, spice it up with a baked salmon fillets or pesto or buffalo chicken, as well as marinated shrimp and crab.

Salata makes ALL their dressings in house. They are all-natural, proprietary blends including buttermilk ranch (The dill adds flavor!), ginger lime (MUST TRY!), honey mustard, fat-free mango, and classic Caesar. Feel free to blend these dressings. They are positioned by the other dressings that complement each other. Salata also sells bottles of its dressings for you to enjoy at home.

Michael Mina, owner of Salata, brings Dallas a healthy option for your whole family, as they offer a kids’ salad choice too. You can find Salata currently in downtown Dallas,  in University Park and in Plano with plans to open more soon. It can also be found in the Houston area and Los Angeles.

Salata…eat good, look good, feel good!
